About UsChild Care W.A. is the only peak private long day child care centre association in W.A.. The association and its members are committed to bring together,(at a state and federal level) Industry government and community to enate and maintain the highest quality environments for the Western Australian children. The association works with the government and other authorities to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the best outcomes possible for the children and families. The Committee has federal and state government representatives who meet regularly to ensure that the voice of the private sector is heard. Over the past year the association Committee has successfully opposed and had enacted changes to our new state regulations. It is essential that the lines of communication are open and we look forward in 2009 to having the opportunity to represent the views of members so that we can make a difference. This Association is represented on a wide range of Committees and Task Forces that are all focused on some aspect of the early education and care of children. At least one Member of our Committee attends National meetings of the Australian Federation of Child Care Associations four times each year to contribute to the National debate on childcare, looking after the interests of WA. CAWA continuously remains involved in completing submissions to Government, both State and Federal, on issues such as State Regulation reviews, Training and making comment on any proposed changes at a Federal level. We support Members with inquiries on a range of issues covering, including ,Industrial Relations, Child Care Regulations, Occupational Safety & Health, Child Care Benefit and Quality Assurance (QIAS). In addition, we respond to inquiries and concerns from non members and the public on subjects relating to the care of children. |
