President-Rory Vassallo

Rory has been involved in the industry since 2003. He now owns and operates in excess of 25 centres across Western Australia with one in Queensland also. In 2005 he was elected to the CAWA committee and has been a sitting member since. In August 2006 he was elected treasurer of the Child Care Associations Australia. He is a past Federal Delegate on the National Children’s Services Forum and West Australian Ministers Childcare Advisory Committee. In 2010 Rory was awarded a West Australian ‘Top 40 under 40’ entrepreneur and in 2011 he won the Ernst & Young 'Emerging' Entrepreneur of the Year for the Western Region.

Vice President-Evan Hicks


Evan along with his wife Allison has been in various businesses over the past 27 years including Byford Child Care for the past 17 years. Evan and Allison both have Diploma's in Child Care and are committed to child care in Western Australia.

Vice President-Lisa Godwin
Lisa has been involved in the childcare industry for over 16 years and is the proud owner of 2 centre for 5 years. Lisa has worked extensively with young children from o – 12 years of age throughout her career. Beginning in the industry as a young person completing her traineeship through to her diploma of children’s services recognizing a passion for early learning.
Over the past few years Lisa has become a leader and advocate in the childcare industry for staff, children and families, she has a vision to provide quality learning for all children and to lift the training standards and offer a children an environment to become confident learners.

Secretary-Karen Stackpole
Karen holds a Cert IV OH&S, Advanced Diploma Child Care, Certificate in Small Business Management, Diploma in Teacher Assistant & Cert IV Workplace Training & Assesment. Karen's long term goals for the industry, are to lift the quality of staff training, provide a higher level of quality care and to bridge the gap between formal and informal education.

Committee- Martin Lowell

Martin has Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Arts degrees.  He has worked for a large Utility Company for the past 10 years in various rolls, and more recently as a Director of his family’s company, which has owned Childcare Centres in WA for more than 17 years.

Committee-Julie Thomas 

 

Julie has a Certificate in Child Care , an Advance Diploma in Childcare, Diploma in Management of Children’s Services and a Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment.

Julie has owned and managed her own service for the past nine years and strongly believes that we must all work towards lifting the profile of ‘child care workers’ to a professional level through improved training for staff and with government support, and higher remunerations for our educators.

Committee-Kim Beange

Kim holds a Bachelor of Business and is a CPA. Kim’s long term goals for the industry, are to see affordability for families improved and to see an improvement in the quality of staff by improved training and conditions.

Committee-Anne Chemello

 

Anne holds a Teaching degree, Graduate Diploma in Social Science and Cert IV in Training and Assessment.  Anne was a validator with NCAC for 8 years and has lectured in this industry for 6 years. She has opened and operated services for 17 years, and currently has four services in the northern suburbs. Anne’s long term goals are to be able to serve the industry with current knowledge of EYLF.
